First of all, this is a historic election, so lets get this damn blog rolling!!Second, seriously... John McCain wanted to cancel Friday's debate. What for? An economic crisis?
Is this the true character reflection of John McCain... that in the face of huge economic uncertainty he will run away from the issues?
If you ask me, it was nothing more than a calculated campaign ploy to seem 'sympathetic' to the economic downturn. But in the face of this economic danger, we shouldn't run away... we should confront through honest discussion from the candidates who are running for leader of the free world.
The debate is so on.

Are you serious?
John McCain is an elder statesman, he has served in the US Senate for over 20 years and this is his second set of presidential debates.
By comparison, your fellow is a lightweight. He is a one term Illinois state senator who has to take his teleprompter with him on the road because he still can't memorize his stump speech after over a year of campaigning. Even members of your own party admit he sucks when it comes to giving speeches that someone else didn't write or answering hostile questions from the press.
Logically we can assume that John McCain will come out better in the debates and postponing one of them is decidedly not to his advantage.
Didn't it ever occur to you that postponing the chance to kick Obama's ass on a national stage in order to solve the greatest economic crisis of our generation might actually be about solving the greatest economic crisis of our generation?
Senator John McCain is confronting economic danger through honest discussion.....in the United States Senate. You know, the people who will actually decide what action is taken. Where is Senator Barack Obama at this time of peril? Why isn't he where he belongs, doing his job like John McCain is?
This elder statesman looks to be going off the reservation. Suspending ones campaign after claiming "The fundamentals of the economy are strong" sounds like a major flip-flop hypocrisy to me. Why would he do it? Why would he pick Sarah Palin whom has experience granted that experience is bad (higher taxes and deficits since she became governor)? Because these are all stunts that John McCain has used to become president. He does not care about the American people other wise he wouldn't have let this lack of regulation and lack of government oversight happen. The point is this is just a political stunt..it's anything to get to the White House..I'm John McCain and I will do anything to get to the White House; including pushing back the debates so that the Vice Presidential debate doesn't happen so the people won't see how ill-equipped Sarah Palin is! And what is he going to do in Washington hmm...throw more money to his friends (CEO's, BIG OIL) and hope they spend it wisely? TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS DOESN'T WORK IN THE REAL WORLD! Trying to save face by suspending your campaign isn't going to fix that!
"Why would he do it?"
To save us from a recession - derrrrr
"He does not care about the American people"
Whoa there chief. Remember those 5 and a half years in a cage? Do you remember who that was for? John McCain has devoted his life to the service of this country and risked it on more than one occasion to secure your freedom. To accuse him of anything less is out of line.
"other wise he wouldn't have let this lack of regulation and lack of government oversight happen."
Tell me chief - how did he benefit from that? Deregulation is preached by economists of every stripe and was passed into law with the backing of democrats. No one ever stops to think about it but home ownership levels are at a historic high due to deregulation.
"TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS DOESN'T WORK IN THE REAL WORLD!"
But socialism does?
"Trying to save face by suspending your campaign isn't going to fix that!"
You fool! This is about more than a campaign!
