Really?

Democracy Corps ran a 45-person focus group in St. Louis. The group was heavily tilted towards the Republicans, with 33% identifying as Republicans, 27% identifying as Democrats, and the rest independents. The group as a whole voted for Bush over Kerry by a 2-to-1 margin in 2004. Nevertheless, by a 38% to 27% margin, they felt that Obama won the debate.

Post Debate Polls: Obama wins overwhelmingly

All right, while I generally question the validity of a random sample from post-reaction polling, I do find comfort in tonight's results:

From CBS:

CNN:
Who did the best job in the debate?

Barack Obama 51
John McCain 38

Who would better handle Iraq?

Barack Obama 52
John McCain 47

Who would better handle the economy?

Barack Obama 58
John McCain 37

What is John McCain afraid of?

First of all, this is a historic election, so lets get this damn blog rolling!!

Second, seriously... John McCain wanted to cancel Friday's debate. What for? An economic crisis?

Is this the true character reflection of John McCain... that in the face of huge economic uncertainty he will run away from the issues?

If you ask me, it was nothing more than a calculated campaign ploy to seem 'sympathetic' to the economic downturn. But in the face of this economic danger, we shouldn't run away... we should confront through honest discussion from the candidates who are running for leader of the free world.

The debate is so on.
